DD Power 15: May 14 to May 20

Ranking #10 – Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler

Last Week – N/A

Marking their returns since Wrestlemania, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler made their intentions very clear when they took out one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, vowing to do so repeatedly until they got a title match.

The title picture changed drastically over the week but the duo got their wish as they will be one of the four teams involved in the title match in a couple of weeks.

Rousey and Baszler did win the Wrestlemania Showcase match, under controversial circumstances from the fans perspective, thus explaining their feelings of entitlement to these titles.

Ranking #9 – Cora Jade

Last Week – N/A

In the third match of the quarter-finals, Cora Jade would defeat Fallon Henley to move ever closer to her goal of becoming NXT Women’s Champion.

Jade already knows her next opponent and would face off with her, Lyra Valkyria, post match as they stood over the vacant title.

The two faced off at Spring Breakin’ with Jade emerging victorious, so the momentum definitely sits on her side.

Ranking #8 – Roxanne Perez

Last Week – N/A

A favourite in the ongoing tournament would have to be the only woman left in the running to have held the NXT Women’s Championship in the past.

In the final match of the night, Perez took on Jacy Jayne, who has also been on a roll as of late, with Perez coming out on top.

We know it will be Perez vs Tiffany Stratton next week with the winner going on to face either Lyra Valkyria or Cora Jade.

Ranking #7 – KiLynn King

Last Week – 6 (with Taylor Wilde)

A lot of eyes were on Impact this week due to a highly anticipated in-ring debut (more on that later) and the other half of that match would be KiLynn King.

Despite being one half of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions, King is also fairly new to Impact so to be given this spotlight for such an important match speaks volumes for her ability and the faith Impact have in her.

King may not have won the match but it was a proven hard-hitting affair and she more than succeeded in giving her opponent a memorable first match on Impact.

Ranking #6 – Jade Cargill

Last Week – N/A

With an new improved record of 59-0 and an ongoing title reign of over 500 days, the longest reign of any AEW title, Jade Cargill is clearly at the top of her own mountain.

This week on Rampage, Cargill would defeat two talents back to back and aim to hit 60 victories in her streak but would be thwarted by Taya Valkyrie and leading to a match now made official for Double or Nothing.

Ranking #5 – Taya Valkyrie

Last Week – N/A

Returning from her suspension this week was Taya Valkyrie and unlike most challengers to the TBS Championship, she’s not going to the back of the line.

Striking Cargill in the best way she could, denying her the 60th victory in her streak, before planting her with the Road to Valhalla, Valkyrie has booked her ticket to Double or Nothing where she will get a second opportunity at the championship.

Ranking #4 – The Outcasts

Last Week – N/A

The planned match for Dynamite had to be changed due to Jamie Hayter not being medically cleared and this possibly had a part to play in the victory as Toni Storm and Ruby Soho would dispatch Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida with Saraya doing her part at ringside.

As well as this victory, Storm has a massive opportunity to bring the AEW Women’s Championship to The Outcasts when she faces Hayter at Double or Nothing.

Ranking #3 – Becky Lynch

Last Week – 4

The Man of the Masses finally got to retaliate, verbally, to the ongoing taunts from Trish Stratus this week on RAW.

Stratus would not be around to interrupt or respond to Lynch but we did learn that the two will meet in a first ever singles match against one another at Night of Champions.

Things remain heated and personal between the two after Stratus would bring up Lynch’s daughter in her recent promos so Lynch is heading to Night of Champions ready to silence the Hall of Famer.

Ranking #2 – Asuka

Last Week – 3

After her mist attack on the RAW Women’s Champion, WWE would announce that Asuka will face Bianca Belair at Night of Champions with the title on the line.

Looking to build momentum to this match and competing for the first time since Wrestlemania, Asuka would meet Zelina Vega on Smackdown.

The duo would attempt to out manoeuvre one another numerous times, with Vega even escaping the Asuka lock at one point, before eventually succumbing to the hold and verbally tapping out.

Asuka would delay releasing the hold which brought out Belair to check on Vega before she clocked Asuka trying to sneak up on her. Belair showed she learned from last week by narrowly avoiding a full face of mist but Asuka was pleased nonetheless, knowing she is in the champ’s head.

Ranking #1 – Trinity

Last Week – N/A

New name. New gear. New home.

After stepping up to The Coven last week, Trinity would make her much anticipated in-ring debut for Impact against KiLynn King.

In a match that truly showcased the potential that is Trinity (as well as KiLynn King) and left them both with battle wounds after the effect, Trinity would secure the victory with her newly named Starstruck submission hold.

Jai Vidal, who had eagerly got a picture with Trinity last week, would come out and announce that his friend, Gisele Shaw, would be taking up Trinity’s open contract at Under Seige. Vidal would then attempt to blindside Trinity but this isn’t her first rodeo and she would kick him in response.
