Debbie Malenko and Bianca Carelli added to NWA Empowerrr Women’s Invitational

Two more women have been added to the first-ever NWA Women’s Invitational that will take place in the main event of NWA Empowerrr on Aug. 28. The winner of this 10-woman Invitational will go on to face the NWA World Women’s Champion the following night at NWA73. The current champion is Kamille.

First, we have Debbie Malenko who was most known for her time in the early 90’s wrestling mostly in Japan. She was forced to retire after a career ending injury took place in a match in 1993. Debbie was trained under Dean Malenko’s father Boris Malenko and used the surname as her wrestling name. She has returned to the wrestling ring recently and it will be fun to see her back in the ring at Empowerrr. She is the fifth woman to be announced for the match.

From one end of the spectrum to the next, NWA has also announced its sixth competitor – Bianca Carelli. She is the daughter of former WWE Superstar, Santino Marella. She has been training and even had a WWE tryout a few years ago.

Malenko and Carelli join the other four women who have already been announced: Tootie Lynn, Jamie Senegal, Chelsea Green, and Lady Frost. There are four other spots that are waiting to be named.

Other matches so far for Empowerrr include an IMPACT Knockouts Championship match between Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Melina and an NWA World Women’s Championship match between Kamille and Leyla Hirsch.

Mickie James has also announced the return of the NWA Women’s Tag Team Titles for the event but no match has been booked at this time.
