Deonna Purrazzo vs. Mickie James made official at Bound for Glory

Bound for Glory is rapidly approaching as it is just one month away and it will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first match for the Knockouts has been announced and it is one that has been building for a number of weeks. Knockouts Champion, The Virtuosa Deonna Purrazzo, will be putting her title on the line as she faces Hardcore Country Mickie James.

The rivalry came to blows last week which has led to Mickie making the challenge for the title. On this week’s IMPACT, she did just that. By stating that she is no longer the executive producer of an all-women’s event, all gloves are off and Hardcore Country is ready for a fight. Of course, her challenge wasn’t well-received by Purrazzo who declined the request.

The two came to blows once again which resulted in numerous officials pulling them apart. Scott D’Amore made his way out to the stage and confirmed that wrestlers don’t make matches. On top of that, they don’t get to turn them down either. He adds that James is a pillar of the Knockouts and despite what Purrazzo thinks she has more than earned a title shot. James will get whatever match she wants. He then confirms the match at Bound for Glory.

Bound for Glory isn’t the only event coming up. Knockouts Knockdown is back and comes first on Oct. 9. Decay, the Knockouts Tag Team Champions, will find out who their opponents will be next week for that event. Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering will face against The Influence, the winners getting the title shot.

Gail Kim also announces that there will be an eight-Knockouts tournament at Knockouts Knockdown where the winner will get a future championship match.

“We’re going to have an eight-person tournament where four of our Knockouts will face four of the very best out there and whoever comes out on top will get a future shot at the Knockouts Championship Title.”

Chelsea Green faced Rohit Raju this week. Thanks to the return of Raj Singh who took out Matt Cardona at ringside, this distracted Green which cost her the match. Raju took advantage and rolled up Green for the win.

Su Yung continues to add to her collection of souls. Kimber Lee and Brandi Lauren brought her Swingerella #3 last week.
