Deonna Purrazzo wants both Chelsea Green and Mickie James to return to IMPACT

Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo is making her list of women she wants to join and grow alongside in the Knockouts division.

Purrazzo was released last year by WWE and has excelled with IMPACT Wrestling and sits currently as a two-time Knockouts Champion. She wants two women who have been Knockouts Champions before to return back to the company. One being Chelsea Green and the other being the legend herself Mickie James.

While speaking with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Purrazzo was first discussing the near return of Taylor Wilde. Wilde is a multi-time champion with IMPACT and is set to return to the ring this month for the first time in a decade. She comments that she has already taken out ODB and then Jazz so why not add another legend in that of Wilde to the list.

She shifted gears to saying there are some more surprises coming to the division. In addition to that she mentions the recent releases that took place from WWE.

“Someone like Chelsea Green who is my best friend but you know is also one of my favorite opponents in the ring. So if she wants to come to IMPACT when she is able that would be great. Mickie James is another former IMPACT Knockouts Champion – that would be phenomenal.”

McCarthy asks jokingly how soon did Purrazzo contact the women who were released still 90-days out to recruit them.

“I mean, especially Chelsea, but it’s kind of hard. Because when I was released last year, I was happy about it. I was kind of like ‘woohoo! Freedom! I get to be my own self.’ That’s not a lot of the cases this time around. Especially, Chelsea, it was more of a shock. So I’ve just kind of been like let the dust settle and then we’ll talk about it all. Obviously, IMPACT is where I want her to be and I want her to thrive and succeed.”

“I think being so close and having the relationship we do, her seeing me thrive the last year too, is kind of a relief. Seeing her fiance Matt Cardona thrive in the last year is relieving, too. Because it’s like I thought I was going to be at this place, I thought it was going to be my forever home, but I’ll be okay no matter what. Been there, done that. I’m sure IMPACT would love to have her back. She’s a former Knockouts champion too.”

Purrazzo and Green tagged together at NXT house shows under the team name VXT. The team didn’t make it to TV before being broken up. Green then joined the Robert Stone Brand at the time.

What do you think about what Deonna had to say? Who would you like to see join the Knockouts Division? Leave your thoughts below.
