Deonna Purrazzo wins Knockouts Ironman match to retain the title

In a first for the Knockouts, Deonna Purrazzo defended her Knockouts Title in a 30-minute Ironman match.

This took place as the main event on Night 2 of Emergence. She successfully defeated former champion, Jordynne Grace, by one fall in a 2 to 1 outcome. Purrazzo won the title from Grace at Slammiversary in July.

The first fall of the match went to Grace as she locks the champion up in a rear-naked chokehold. The referee called for the bell giving Grace a 1-0 advantage. Purrazzo would receive her first fall as a result of the official being taken down by Grace. Grace went for a Grace Driver but Purrazzo countered leading up to this. Grace tries again and was able to deliver the Grace Driver this time but wasn’t able to secure a second fall because the referee was still down.

Purrazzo was able to capitalize and hit Grace with the title belt. The referee would then come to and the champ gets the three count to even the score to 1-1. This happened with less than two minutes left on the clock. So between that time and the last five seconds of the match, Purrazzo was able to get Grace to tap in the Fujiwara Armbar to go over with the 2-1 win.

With Purrazzo retaining her title, she most likely will move on to Kylie Rae who won her number one contender’s spot at Slammiversary.
