This week’s episode of AEW Dark featured two women’s matches. The first saw Big Swole and KiLynn King team up to face AEW debutants, The MK Twins. The second match had Diamante in action against the returning Queen Aminata.
Big Swole & KiLynn King vs The MK Twins
The tag team match was the first women’s action of the night and our introduction to the impressive MK Twins. Steff and Ashley MK make a powerful and formidable duo and took the match to Swole and King throughout. The action featured some good exchanges and aggressive offense from both teams. Despite their strength and dominant presence the twins fell to another great showing from Swole and King.
This was a good match that highlighted the newcomers nicely. AEW would be wise to use the MK Twins again. King, Swole, and Red Velvet are really fun and entertaining trio and have been racking up the wins since teaming up. Hopefully, the wins and performances lead to KiLynn King becoming “All Elite” very soon.
Diamante vs Queen Aminata
The other women’s match on the show saw Diamante take on Queen Aminata in her first singles match in AEW. Queen Aminata is a standout performer and has a bright future ahead of her but this match was all about Diamante. The Cuban Diamond wasted little time in laying into her opponent. The flurry of offense left Queen Aminata with a busted lip but Diamante did not let up. Stiff dropkicks, Three Amigos, and a stunner followed before she locked in a body scissor and armbar combination for the submission victory.
Diamante was brutally brilliant in this showing and looks to be making the most out her opportunity as a singles star. More matches and wins like this and the “Cuban Diamond” will be a name near the title real soon.
