Tonight’s special Saturday episode of AEW Dynamite hosted the finals of the Women’s Tag Team Tournament – The Deadly Draw. The finalists were The Nightmare Sisters, Allie and Brandi Rhodes vs. Diamante and Ivelisse.
Both teams claimed their place in the finals when they won their respective semi-final matches earleir this week. This was the first match of the tournament to take on Dynamite.
Ivelisse and Diamante took the match to Allie and Brandi from the get-go. Fierce and stiff strikes are their forte and they used them to maximum effect. The Nightmare Sisters managed to get offence in on Diamante during the commercial break. This continued until a failed distraction from QT Marshall allowed Ivelisse to eliminate Brandi from the match and score the pinfall victory on Allie.
After the match, Diamante and Ivelisse threw down their ceremonial flowers and proudly displayed their national flags.
Hopefully this mean that Diamante and Ivelisse will become offical members of the AEW roster. AEW really need to attend to their women’s division and along with Thunder Rosa’s appearance it seems as though we are finally getting it.
Futher focus was added to divison when Anna Jay of the Dark Order visiously took out Brandi Rhodes at the end of Cody’s match with Mr. Brodie Lee. Jay a very promising prospect and has done very well during her short time in AEW. A feud with Brandi is a good way to shed more light on her.
