Tonight’s NXT may change the landscape of the division heading into 2020. As announced two weeks ago, Shayna Baszler will be defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley.
Baszler has been the only woman to hold this title twice and she is currently in her second reign at 415-days. She has defeated nearly everyone there is to defeat on the NXT brand and it all comes down to the Queen of Spades vs. The Nightmare. Ripley bested Baszler at NXT TakeOver: WarGames even when the odds weren’t in her favor. We can only expect for Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir to be lurking around ringside. Will Ripley have backup as well?
If Ripley wins, this could open up doors for many fresh new matches. Likewise it seems that Baszler has done all she can do in NXT and a move to RAW at the moment may be what is best for everyone.
