Another year has come and gone which means a year of Diva and Knockout outfits have flashed across our screens. We saw it all this year, from feather headdresses to sequined bras…there were many fabulous and interesting outfits. Who were the fashions icons of this year? Here are my picks for the best dressed of 2012.
Eve Torres: Eve took on a whole new character this year. She went from everybody’s favorite athletic and friendly girl to a woman who would use any man to get what they want. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t love every moment of it. Eve began wearing more detailed ring attires at the beginning of 2012 and ditches that tacky “BELIEVE” necklace she used to wear (THANK GOD). She really caught the attention of male viewers in a blue top she wore during an angle with Zack Ryder. At Wrestlemania, Eve debuted a sexy silver and black outfit complete with some heavy duty make up to finish off the perfect look. And of course, everyone’s favorite new Eve look this year. Glasses. Eve in glasses. I loved every second of it.
Gail Kim: 2011 saw the return of Gail Kim to TNA. Last time we saw the Korean beauty in TNA she wore flowers in her hair and mini-skirts. Yeah, that look wasn’t going to work this time. Kim began to wear lots of lace and leather outfits, which were perfectly paired with her attitude. I would not mess with any woman who walks around in a leather top. Let’s not forget Gail’s best accessory for most of this year, the Knockouts Championship. I don’t think any Knockout wears it better.
Natalya: Many often forget how stylish Natalya really is…except those of us who follow her on Twitter. Have you SEEN the pictures of the shoes this girl posts? One thing I really admire about Natalya is that she’s taken her love of fashion into her ring attire. Ring attire doesn’t have to look like spandex or boring and that’s something Nattie gets. She’s debuted countless new outfits this year and every one of them is mesmerizing. I think it’s about time Nattie got something pink and silver to match all these outfits though. I’m thinking something butterfly shaped. Trust me, it won’t look as gaudy as I’m making it sound.
Kelly Kelly: Sure, she only has a handful of appearances in WWE this year but fashion was, this was Kelly’s best year. I loved every outfit I’ve seen her in outside of the WWE ring, especially her gorgeous green dress she wore on Extra where her Wrestlemania match was made official. Her Wrestlemania attire was something new and different, I loved it (okay, maybe it just looked a lot better than the crap Maria Menounos was wearing). Although, Kelly is no longer in the WWE she’s still continuing to be a stylish woman in her own life. She’s even ditched her signature blond locks for a gorgeous new brunette look. Keep up the great fashion!
Alicia Fox: I have a soft spot for Alicia Fox. Sure, not everything she wears is exactly fashion. Sometimes, it actually looks kind of scary. But you’ve got to love this girl. Why? Because she takes risks. She will try something unconventional almost all of the time, and it actually pays off more than you’d think. I loved her themed outfits this year, such as her sailor outfit or her skeleton ring gear. She brings her wild personality into her outfits.
Those are my picks for this year’s fashion icons of the squared circle. Do you agree with my picks? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
