Mamachas del Ring
If I personally had to recommend one product this year, it’d be this one.
In my opinion, Mamachas del Ring is the greatest wrestling-related product I’ve seen this year, bar none.
This documentary, directed by Betty M. Park, is a poignant yet affecting piece of film following the lives of four Bolivian women struggling against gender discrimination in the male-dominated wrestling scene there. We also follow the personal struggle of Carmen Rosa as she juggles being a wrestler, wife and mother.
Mamachas del Ring takes you on a journey with these women and you can’t help but feel empathetic towards them, cry for them and love them. It truly is a wonderful, if haunting, film.
