A Divas tag team match involving celebrity WWE fan Maria Menounos has been announced for WrestleMania 28 on April 1st.
Menounos will team with Kelly Kelly to take on WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres.
The official challenge came on Menounos’ showbiz gossip show, Extra, which airs in syndication. In an episode which aired today (March 15th), Phoenix and Torres crashed Menounos’ interview with Kelly in an angle that lead to the heel Divas challenging Menounos to a match at WrestleMania. Menounos, who has previously wrestled for WWE on two occassions, accepted.

Beth and Maria then got into a physical altercation, a teaser of their match to come.
After security diffused the situation, removing Phoenix and Torres from the set, Kelly told Menounos that she’d have her back at ‘Mania.
Menounos, the host of Extra and a New York Times best selling author, is a long time WWE fan. She competed in a six Diva tag team match in September 2009 on Raw and again returned last year at Tribute to the Troops, this time in an eight Diva tag team match.
It’ll be interesting to see how this feud will play out in the coming weeks as Menounos is set to be one of the participants on Dancing with the Stars, a show which goes head to head with Raw on Mondays and clashes with SmackDown tapings on Tuesday nights. Will Menounos be available to appear before the live crowd to promote her match before ‘Mania?
