In a very exciting announcement during Bound for Glory, the Knockouts Tag Team Championships are making their way back to IMPACT. It was declared that the champions will be crowned at the next pay-per-view event in January, Hard to Kill. On this week’s IMPACT, further details of how we will get to the crowning.
In three week’s time, eight teams will be in the running as a tournament will begin.
Currently, there are four fully formed teams in the Knockouts locker room. We have Team Ragnarok (Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie), Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee, Havok & Nevaeh, and Fire and Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz). This has led to some of the singles competitors scurrying around trying to find a tag team partner.
We saw Alisha Edwards, Tenille Dashwood, and Jordynne Grace all without a partner as the announcement of the tournament was made. Grace decided to team up with Alisha when Hogan & Steelz were picking on her for not having a partner. The makeshift team of Alisha & Grace attempted to become victorious later on in the night against Team Fire and Flava.
Unfortunately for the makeshift team, Alisha took the pin as Steelz stacked her up to end the match. After the match, Alisha and Grace clearly were not on the same page as they shoved each other. That team may be over before it even got started. Other than Alisha, Grace, and Dashwood we have also Kylie Rae and Madison Rayne as singles competitors. Rae was in a tag team with Susie, however, Su Yung is back and is the new Knockouts Champion.
So with only four solid teams, who will the other four be? Could we see a return of former tag teams such as Taylor Wilde & Sarita who were the very first Knockouts Tag Team Champions? Perhaps we will see a shocking debut?
