On paper, tonight’s Elimination Chamber event doesn’t look too promising for the women’s roster. The build-up for the event has been little to none and the first match announced for the event seems to finally have been removed.
Originally Asuka was set to defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans. On this past Monday’s RAW, however, Evans announced that she is pregnant. It has been unsure if this was storyline or if she is truly pregnant. Wrestling Inc. stated that she is indeed really pregnant on the night she announced it on RAW.
Since then WWE continued to advertise this match on their social media platforms and their website. The official WWE.com website now is no longer showing the match on the card. The match that is scheduled is for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax will defend their titles against the team of Bianca Belair & SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. Unless they add another match or a replacement for Evans against Asuka this appears to be the only women’s match.
