In 2011, she became one of the hottest American exports to Japan — Hailey Hatred at one point held six championships at one time.
Though originally from the US, her move to Japan — where she made history as the first “gaijin” (foreigner) to win the prestigious JWP Openweight Championship — arguably helped propel her stock in her native America and all around the world. Now recognized alongside Sara Del Rey and others as one of the finest female wrestlers in all the land, veteran Hatred has truly arrived.
This weekend she faces off against Del Rey in something of a dream match in what is rumored to be one of Del Rey’s final independent stops before joining WWE. The match takes place at Absolute Intense Wrestling’s Girls Night Out 7 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Hatred talks to us about the match, her start in wrestling, move to Japan, SHIMMER and much more in this exclusive chat.
