Since the days of NXT, Sasha Banks and Bayley have been side-by-side sharing legendary moments. Moments that will live on forever in WWE history. With WrestleMania only two months away, the time is now for “The Boss & Hug Connection” to finally meet one-on-one in Tampa, Fla. This year the SmackDown Women’s Championship should be on the line. The former Women’s Tag Team Champions need to leave their partnership behind, at least for now.
Their history in NXT had an unmistakable dynamic. So much in fact they stay as the only women to have ever main evented a TakeOver event in its near six year history. This was a 30-minute Ironwoman match to follow up with their stellar match at TakeOver: Brooklyn.
The feud would start by having Banks winning
Bayley could also evaluate her status
The storyline leading up to the match should paint the picture of a story of two former best friends relationship destroyed by jealousy. This all builds to only one to remain at the top of the SmackDown women’s division. The story actually writes itself and the fact that they haven’t pulled the trigger on this in the past is ludicrous.
Sasha Banks is without question one of the most gifted female wrestlers of all-time. With everything she’s accomplished so far in WWE she has yet to have her big WrestleMania moment. Bayley often times has been known as the least talked about “Four Horsewoman” but has also had a great career as well. She became the first-ever female Grad Slam Champion of her era.
I’m sure there will be fans that will disagree about this match because of the failed attempts in the past. I don’t think we can deny that they both need this moment. Banks hasn’t held a singles title since August 2017 and has never won the SmackDown title. The opportunity to show their amazing in-ring chemistry on the big stage under the brightest lights. April 5 I say is the time to do just that.
