The NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship belt once briefly held by Cora Jade has been retrieved from the trash can and new champions will be crowned next week.
Jade dissolved her friendship and tag team partnership with Roxanne Perez just two weeks after they won the tag team belts together. This took place as Perez was attempting to become NXT Women’s Champion as well during a match with Mandy Rose. To add further disrespect for her actions, Jade tossed her belt into the trash can two weeks ago. Perez returned this week to save Zoey Stark from a vicious kendo stick attack from Jade after Stark defeated Gigi Dolin.
In a backstage segment, Perez held onto the tag belt she still had and with the help of WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze, removed the other belt out of the trash. This of course takes the fans back to the year 1995 when Blayze left WWE with the WWF Women’s Title and showed up on WCW throwing it into the trash can on TV.
Blayze states when she did what she did it took years for WWE to crown a new champion. This time it won’t be the case. She confirmed there will be a Fatal 4-way Elimination Match next week to crown champions who will treat the belts the way they deserve to be treated. Without a partner, Perez vacated her belt.
Throughout the show, we found out who the four teams would be in various backstage segments. The match will be Ivy Nile/Tatum Paxley vs. Valentina Feroz/Yulisa Leon vs. Katana Chance/Kayden Carter vs. Toxic Attraction.
As the show went off the air, Blayze was leaving the building with the gold in her possession discussing next week’s match. She was approached by Toxic Attraction who state they are the only real tag team and everyone else is beneath them. As they tried to grab the belts, Blayze would stop their advances.
