It was announced on tonight’s NXT that we will be finding out next week who will be the first opponent for Io Shirai since winning the NXT Women’s Championship. General Manager William Regal announced that four women will battle in a Fatal Four-way match. Participants include Dakota Kai, Tegan Nox, Candice LeRae, and Mia Yim.
All four of these women have so much history together. None of the four have yet to grab gold for themselves during their time in NXT and each is certainly hungry for that chance.
Yim and LeRae have been in a heated rivalry for many weeks now. This feud has also involved their significant others. Johnny Gargano has had a recent obsession with becoming the first married couple to hold gold with his wife.
Nox and Kai had been feuding since November and up until recently, Kai continued to get the best of her former tag team partner. Nox finally saw retribution at TakeOver: In Your House when she captured the pin for her team against Kai in the six-woman tag match.
Kai has been very vocal since Shirai has won the NXT Women’s Title just a few weeks ago. She has constantly been making statements that she wants to be next. Could she be the victor in this equation?
