We are down to two. The finals for the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament is officially Roxanne Perez vs. Tiffany Stratton.
If you have been following the tournament over the past few weeks you may be questioning why Stratton is in the finals when she wasn’t in the tournament to begin with. She was substituted into the tournament for Nikkita Lyons. It was reported that Lyons is out with an injury.
Perez would advance first to the finals after defeating Lash Legend.
Legend advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Tatum Paxley while Perez took out Kiana James in round one. Perez would win the match with Pop Rox. She expressed her concern prior to the match due to the size advantage for Legend, but Perez pulled out the underdog win.
The other semi-finals match had Fallon Henley trying to make it to the finals with an unexpected opponent, Tiffany Stratton. The two exchanged words backstage prior to the match when Henley found out she wouldn’t be facing Nikkita Lyons.
Even though she had minimal time to prepare, Stratton was able to put Henley away with her corkscrew splash finisher to advance. The final moments of the match saw Henley nurse a hurt knee which buckled underneath her before Stratton took advantage to achieve the victory.
An official date for the finals has not been confirmed at the time of this writing.
