It was confirmed two days ago that Becky Lynch would be starring as rockstar Cyndi Lauper in the upcoming season three premiere episode of Young Rock. Now we have a first look at her role. Lauper had her time with WWF as part of Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection where she played manager to Wendi Richter. In 1984, Richter defeated the Fabulous Moolah (with Lou Albano) for the WWF Women’s Championship at The Brawl to End It All.
Young Rock is starting its third season on Nov. 4 as it portrays the life of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Lynch took to her Instagram today to share some photos and talk about her experience playing Lauper.
She writes –
Very excited to join the amazingly talented cast and crew of @nbcyoungrock as the iconic @cyndilauper .
Playing someone as groundbreaking and influential, not only in the music industry but as a feminist and someone who was instrumental in bringing wrestling into the mainstream , was both challenging and immensely fun and I can’t wait for you all to see it!

I was right there for Becky’s audition and we were all very impressed at her high level commitment as an actor to become Cyndi Lauper.
No easy task, but she worked her butt off and went all in – and crushed it.
