First Semi-Finals Match Set For Women’s Tag Team Tournament

The Raw side of the brackets has officially moved to the semi-finals as Asuka and Alexa Bliss have moved on to the semi-finals. On the Aug. 15 episode of Raw, Asuka and Bliss took on the team of Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. and came out with the victory. They will face IYO SKY & Dakota Kai next week to decide who goes to the finals.

The final moments of the first-round match had Bliss keeping Nikki on the outside with a punch to the face as Asuka had Doudrop locked into a submission. Doudrop would eventually tap out.

After the match, the winning team along with the Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair celebrated up the ramp to the stage. Lurking behind them were their opponents (Bayley/Dakota Kai/IYO SKY) for Clash at the Castle, and Bliss & Asuka’s next opponents standing in their way to winning gold. As the tension between all six women built up, officials kept them apart to end the segment.

Whoever wins in this semi-finals match will be facing either Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah OR whoever wins between Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons vs. Natalya & Sonya Deville.

Later in the night, we would see Kai in action making it her first singles match on Raw. She went against the 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke in a non-title match. Kai would get the win after a big boot to the face in the corner. Brooke would be put away with a pin. Tamina was backstage with Brooke watching the tag team match earlier in the night but did not join her ringside for this match.

Starting this week’s Raw was Rhea Ripley along with the rest of Judgment Day. After they delivered their promo, Rey Mysterio attempted to avenge what Ripley did to Dominik last week but the numbers game was too much for Mysterio.

More from Ripley, Bayley, Dakota, and IYO can be seen below on Raw Talk –
