4. Team PBC vs. Team Bellas vs. Team BAD – SummerSlam 2015
An important match up for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it helped usher in the sea-change of women’s wrestling in WWE. And second, it was the SummerSlam debut for Charlotte, Lynch and Banks.
The introduction of the NXT talent not only brought in the Women’s Revolution but added fresh, new, exciting wrestlers to a division that was crying out of an injection of new blood. This injection changed the wrestling business and this match is the result of that change. On one team you has the Bella Twins who are the personification of the Divas-Era, while to other teams had the hungry, upcoming new-blood of Lynch, Flair and Banks that were here to takeover.
The match was really good fun and very entertaining and a far cry from the multi-women matches that preceded it. As said earlier the new talent brought new life to the game but the Bellas were not going to be overshadowed and also put in a solid and strong performance. In the end and rather inevitably the new team of Paige, Lynch and Flair go over in the match took WWE’s women’s division in a direction that saw the women go from having 30-second matches to become WrestleMania main eventers.
