2. Asuka vs. Ember Moon – TakeOver Brooklyn III
A great match and that had a main event feel to it. It was physical, fast-paced, with breathtaking near falls, and emotions running high.
Asuka was in the midst of the most dominant winning streak in WWE history. No one was able to topple her but one challenger who came the closest was Ember Moon. The two had met at TakeOver: Orlando a few months earlier in another outstanding match, which Asuka has to cheat to win.
Their second TakeOver match came about when Moon returned from injury and defeated Ruby Riott to get the chance to face Asuka once more. The match was set and both competitors would up the ante of their previous affair.
The storytelling throughout the match was excellent with Asuka targetting Ember’s left arm and shoulder throughout. A valiant and tenacious Ember battled through pain and pushed Asuka to her limits. Ember was determined to end Asuka’s reign and even hit the Eclipse, which Asuka kicked out of. But Asuka’s methodical and vicious focus on Ember’s weakened arm was too much for her to endure. After dishing out and receiving a tonne of punishment, Ember tapped to the Asuka lock in another enthralling and physical war between the two. A fantastic match.
