Io Shirai is red hot right now in NXT especially after her heel turn on Candice LeRae and subsequent match from TakeOver: Toronto. Her match at that event against LeRae received buzz as being a match of the year contender.
Shirai has some history with Santana from their time in Stardom. In 2015 the two squared off in a double title match. Garrett entered this match with the NWA World Women’s Championship and Shirai with the Wonder of Stardom Championship.
Garrett came out with a win causing her to become a double champion. She would keep this title until May 2016. Seeing them face off against each other in NXT or WWE would be a sight to see.
