Naomi and Lana
Naomi and Lana feel like a partnership WWE has been teasing for months. The both have a dancing gimmick. They seemed to become reluctant friends after the dance-off segment and the backstage segment with a cast of GLOW. Their on-and-off rivalry could make for good storylines and possibly a way to start Lana’s push again.
Lana made her return to in-ring competition last summer after months of vignettes. It appeared Lana was set to be a big deal. However, it fizzled out after a few losses in a row. Since then she’s been relegated to managing Rusev again.
Some of her matches during the Mixed Match Challenge showed she is improving. It would probably be generous to say she can compete for the SmackDown Women’s Championship now, but pairing with Naomi could give her shot at the tag titles. This would also give her more to do than Rusev’s “Rusev Day” gimmick.
As for Naomi, this is a chance to showcase why she was talented enough to be Women’s Champion. It always felt like a shame her reign was cut short. But a run as a tag champion or even a few good showings as a team if done right could springboard her back into the title picture.
