The Sky Pirates – NXT to SmackDown
This past week on SmackDown Live, Paige returned with a secret she wanted to share with everyone. Next week, she will introduce a new team to the blue brand to challenge the new Women’s Tag Team Champions, The IIconics. Rumored has it that team will be the Sky Pirates—Kairi Sane and Io Shirai.
The upcoming NXT Women’s Championship match could hint at a possible call up. Sane will take on Shayna Baszler for the title. As a stipulation, if Baszler retains then Sane will not receive another title opportunity.
On the other hand, if Sane does win, then Baszler could be the one called up in the Superstar Shake-Up.
Nia Jax just announced she will need to take some time off to undergo knee surgery, which takes her team with Tamina out of the equation. The Sky Pirates could be the perfect team to breathe new life into the women’s tag team division.
