Oh, Bayley! One half of the now-defunct Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection. It has been an emotional year for the Hugger, to say the least. Along with her best friend, Sasha Banks, the duo became the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions. The team found their reign cut short at 49-days from a controversial loss to The IIconics at WrestleMania.
Now is the perfect time for Bayley to have a singles title run. She has been overlooked since her RAW Women’s Championship reign in 2016. The version of Bayley that WWE presented fans with NXT is not the same character we see on the main roster.
“This is awesome” chants used to fill the venues during a Bayley match, but not anymore. That needs to change.
Now, Bayley is on SmackDown thanks to the Superstar Shake-Up. If entered, this would be her first Money in the Bank match.
Last week, she confronted Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. She mocked the repetitive nature of the Lynch/Flair feud. She proudly reminded Lynch that the number of times she has defeated her is zero. Afterward, Bayley lost to Flair in a number one contender’s match, but this could have been for a bigger purpose if Bayley wins the Money in the Bank contract.
