Five women who would benefit from a Royal Rumble victory

Naomi has been a fan-favorite for the majority of her career. She started on the main roster as a Funkadactyl in a gimmick with Cameron. Due to being in a valet role, she was not as active in the ring as she is now. Naomi started to see more success as she branched out into singles competition.

Her singles competition was pushed aside once she formed a stable. Along with Tamina, the duo emerged as Team B.A.D. When Sasha Banks debuted on the main roster with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, she joined Naomi’s stable. Banks tended to overshadow the “Glow” with her debut.

After several months as being a heel for the first time in her career, Naomi and her stablemates battled with Team Bella and Team PCB. They were shortly disbanded after Banks jumped ship, which sent Naomi back to being a singles competitor.

Naomi was finally able to achieve her goal of being SmackDown Women’s Champion at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, when she defeated Alexa Bliss. She won this match by hitting a springboard split-legged moonsault. After just a few days, Naomi had to relinquish her first title win, due to an injury.

Naomi finally obtained her WrestleMania moment just a few months later, when she was able to recapture her title in her hometown of Orlando. In a six-pack challenge, she made the champion, Bliss, submit and tap out.

Once she lost her unique “Glow” title to Natalya in Aug. 2017 at SummerSlam, she hasn’t been a factor at the top of the mountain. She did show off her impressive skills in the first Royal Rumble. She was able to make her way back to the ring, after being stranded on the barricade, without having her feet touch the ground, to avoid elimination. She lasted just shy of seven minutes, but she was a crowd favorite and entertaining to watch.

She won the first-ever 20-woman Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34, this year. The hype of Naomi’s win quickly ended once it became clear that nothing was coming from the win.

With 2017 featuring the highest point of her career, some would not consider Naomi’s 2018 to be successful. She participated in big matches, such as Money in the Bank, and teamed up with Asuka for the back half of the year. If she wins the Royal Rumble match at the beginning of 2019 she could begin an excellent feud with Lynch.
