Five women who would benefit from a Royal Rumble victory

Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks is no stranger to holding gold in her career. She is a former NXT Women’s Champion, as well as a four-time  Women’s Champion. The problem is she has not achieved gold since Aug. 2017. An even bigger problem is her last title reign. She only held it for eight days, before losing to Alexa Bliss on Raw after her win at SummerSlam.

Her other three title reigns were not long either, due to the championship flip-flop with Charlotte Flair in 2016. Although most don’t deny that the feud with Flair was top-notch, the title itself did not need to change hands as often in that prolonged quarrel. Although having four title reigns on Raw, Banks has only had a total combined reign of 82 days and has never held the title more than a full 30 days at a time.

In 2018, Banks has been feverishly deciding on whether she likes Bayley or not. Lately, it has been to Bayley’s benefit that they are still best friends and are looking forward to one day becoming the “first-ever” tag team champions. Either way, there is high hopes in 2019 that Banks will be a champion again.

Banks did participate in the inaugural match. Banks entered as entrant number one and lasted almost 55 minutes, making it to the final four participants. On paper she had the best showing.

If she were to win next month then, she could easily be the heel against Rousey, or the face against Lynch. If she went against Rousey, this could continue the impending Four Horsewomen battle that is inevitable at this point. If she went against Lynch, that would be a championship match that the crowd has been waiting for since NXT.
