Ruby Riott is the top choice to win the Royal Rumble match, next month. Just as Deville, Riott has not achieved the highest accomplishment in WWE. She comes from the independent scene where she has wrestled in such promotions as SHINE, SHIMMER, and Chikara. Winning titles throughout various promotions shows that she has what it takes to be at the top. A Royal Rumble win could be what she needs to take her career to the next level.
After just a year in NXT, Riott was brought to SmackDown Live. Ever since her debut on the main roster in November of 2017, she has been a fixture on both Raw and SmackDown Live.
Riott has evolved into a leader to her Riott Squad pack of Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. The Riott Squad as a group have had many feuds with the likes of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Ember Moon, and most recently, Natalya. Riott has picked up wins in singles action wins this year against other members on this list alone such as Mickie James, Naomi, and Sasha Banks.
Although Nia Jax is currently being booked as the top heel on Raw, Riott is easily next in line. Her most recent and current rivalry with Natalya has set her slightly apart from just being a stable leader. It became personal once Riott broke the sunglasses of the late father of Natalya.
This past week, Riott and her squad put her adversary through a table on Raw. From this act of malice, Riott has received a tables match on the next pay-per-view, TLC, one week from today, on Dec. 16. If Riott emerges victorious, this could sit her nice and pretty going into the Royal Rumble.
WWE has all but confirmed that the tag team titles will be introduced in 2019. If Riott is to win the RAW Women’s Championship at the biggest stage of them all, then Logan and Morgan could follow suit by winning the tag team titles. A win for her in the Royal Rumble match could start this ball rolling in the right direction.
Riott did last over 11 minutes in the match from this year. This was an impressive showing compared to many of her other competitors. She was eliminated by Nia Jax.
In the next few weeks after TLC, the Royal Rumble pay-per-view will start taking shape. Continue to follow Diva Dirt for updates and coverage for this major event
