This week’s Flashback Match Friday takes us all the way back to 1998’s Survivor Series event.
The WWF Women’s Championship was reinstated in September 1998 and Jacqueline became the first champion after its return. She defeated Sable. In a rematch at Survivor Series two months later, this time it would be Sable to win her first and only championship. Shane McMahon was the special guest referee.
The final moments of the match had Jacqueline perched on the top turnbuckle setting up Sable for the tornado DDT. Sable countered and tossed Jacqueline down to the mat. She delivered a Sable Bomb to get the pin and the three count to become champion.
Sable held the title for 175-days before dropping the title on Raw is War to Debra in an Evening Gown match.
