On this week’s episode of 205 Live (Jan 23), Daniel Bryan announced that next week, a 205 Live General Manager would be named for the show. One of the duties of the new 205 GM will be to address the Cruiserweight Championship situation after the title became vacated following the release of Enzo Amore from the company.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via 411 Mania), the idea of a 205 Live GM had been discussed for months, with former WWE Superstar Summer Rae being in the running or the position prior to her release. She was then told that because of her being taller than most of the guys in the division, that they decided to go another direction.
Summer Rae was released from the WWE back in October. She previously was the General Manager at FCW, the predecessor to NXT.
