Four-Way Women’s Title Match Set For AEW Dynamite Grand Slam

Toni Storm‘s first title defense has been made official.

The September 14 edition of AEW Dynamite featured Toni Storm and Athena teaming up to take on Britt Baker and Serena Deeb. Hikaru Shida was initially set to team with Storm, but Baker attacked her on Dark because if she couldn’t team with her first pick of a partner (Jamie Hayter), then neither would Storm.

Athena was named as a suitable replacement and showcased herself a bit against the doctor and the professor. When the action broke down, Baker sent Athena into the steel steps. Baker grabbed a steel chair, allowing Deeb to send Storm head-first into the weapon. Deeb then pinned the interim champ for the win in a bout that ran over eight minutes.

Post-match, Athena attacked the heels until Baker executed a stomp. Jamie Hayter ran out and grabbed the chair only to use it against Storm. Hayter clearly sent a message to Baker as D.M.D. kept apologizing for what happened at All Out.

Following the tag match, the commentary team announced that Storm will defend against Baker, Athena, and Deeb in a four-way match next Wednesday at Arthur Ashe Stadium at Dynamite: Grand Slam.

On this week’s Rampage, a match has been booked between Penelope Ford and Willow Nightingale.

Can Toni Storm win another four-way match? Or will a new interim champion emerge? Sound off with your thoughts below in the comments section!
