Melanie‘s Pick: Michelle McCool.
We all know that Michelle McCool was the first ever Divas Champion and the woman to unite the Divas and Women’s Championships two years later in 2010. While these achievements speak for themselves, the nature of Michelle’s championship glory has been a hotly debated topic amongst fans who feel she was “given” her success. I disagree.
When I look back at Michelle McCool’s career, I see one of the hardest working champions in recent memory, who was a fighting champion. We saw Michelle grow as a wrestler between her first title reign in 2008 and her second reign in 2010. We saw Michelle shine in the ring, whether it be against veterans like Natalya and Melina, or guiding less experienced talent like Maryse and Maria Kanellis. Michelle was the most consistent wrestler in the Divas division and a champion in every sense of the word.
