Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb faced off this week on AEW’s Dynamite Winter is Coming. This would be the rubber match between the two.
Deeb took the win in their first encounter which halted Shida from becoming the first woman to hit 50-wins. Shida would get some payback as she defeated Deeb in their second encounter, achieved her milestone of 50-wins, and at the same time stopped Deeb from advancing in the TBS Women’s Title Tournament.
Now, Shida gets two wins back-to-back as she broke the tie and defeated the woman of a thousand holds. In another match that took both women to the limits, to end the bout they traded near falls before Shida went for the roundhouse kick which Deeb ducked under. Unfortunately for Deeb, Shida sent her nemesis into the turnbuckle face first. A jackknife cover by Shida using only one foot to anchor it in gave her an impressive victory.
During the Winter is Coming event, a promo aired between Tay Conti and Penelope Ford. The two will square off this Friday on Rampage in a submission match. Conti is tired of Ford and The Bunny using the brass knuckles during their matches. Ford promises that she doesn’t need the brass knuckles to secure a win as she feels confident that using the Muta Lock will secure her a victory.
Julia Hart was not by the side of the Varsity Blonds this week after being the victim of the black mist by Aleister Black last week. With tensions high from Hart not being present, the Varisty Blonds have started to show that they may not be on the same page.
Two semi-final matches are still ready to go for the TBS Women’s Tournament but the dates have not been confirmed. One of four women will become the first champ on Jan. 5 when Dynamite moves to the TBS Network. Who will take this gold between Ruby Soho, Nyla Rose, Jade Cargill, and Thunder Rosa.
