In a recent interview with Express Sport, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Billie Kay and Peyton Royce claimed that they didn’t see or hear anything in regards to rumors of a backstage tantrum on the part of Sasha Banks and Bayley.
““Immediately after the match we were all in tears, all crying,” Royce said. “Just filled with emotion, we got pictures together which we then posted on our Instagram. I mean, I know there are all these rumors going around and we didn’t see anything.”
Bayley and Sasha Banks were the very first women’s tag champs, winning the belts in an Elimination Chamber match at the pay-per-view of the same name. At WrestleMania, they dropped the belts to the IIconics (Royce and Kay), and immediately rumors spread of a meltdown backstage from Banks and Bayley.
But according to the IIconics themselves, no such backstage drama happened, at least that they could see.
““Yeah, we don’t really pay attention to rumors or social media and all that kind of stuff in that aspect,” Kay said. “We had a great experience with them and it holds a really special place in our hearts. You can find them [pictures], we’re all embracing each other.”
The picture in question that Kay is referring to was shared by Banks on Instagram shortly after WrestleMania, of the four women embracing after the match.
Sasha Banks has not been seen on WWE TV since WrestleMania, and Bayley was moved to Smackdown in the Superstar Shake-Up.
