At WrestleCon, IMPACT! is hosting its Multiverse of Matches that will take place tonight at 10 PM EST. The card will feature four matches that include the Knockouts. If you would like to order this event you can do so via Fite.
The card is as follows –
Champ Champ Challenge – Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. TBD
Ultimate X Match for the X Division Title – Jordynne Gace vs. Trey Miguel (c) vs. Chris Bey vs. Vincent vs. Rich Swann vs. Blake Christian
Knockouts World Tag Team Titles – The Influence (c) vs. Decay vs. Lady Frost & Gisele Shaw vs. Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans
Chelsea Green & Matt Cardona vs. Mickie James & Nick Aldis
The matches on the card don’t have much build but each one could turn out to be a great bout.
First, we have Deonna Purrazzo continuing with her Champ Champ challenge. As both the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion and the ROH Women’s World Champion, The Virtuosa has been continuously defending the titles. Her opponent has not been named.
ROH is returning from hiatus today on the same night as this IMPACT event. As a result, Purrazzo will not be able to be at ROH’s return as the promotions champion A match between Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Marinez will determine an interim champion at ROH Honor No More.
Prediction: In this scenario, it is hard to pick depending on which championship she defends and obviously who her opponent will be. Since the ROH title is a bit muddled right now, I think that she will defend the AAA title. Most likely against Taya Valkyrie who has already been determined as the number one contender. If this is the case, then I see Taya taking the belt. If it is not Taya or it is the ROH Title being defended I see Purrazzo still as a double champion.
The Ultimate X match is one that booking wise is a bit all over the place. The bout has already switched out two competitors but Jordynne Grace is still representing for the Knockouts. Mike Bailey and Willie Mack were two that were originally in the match to be replaced by Chris Bey and Blake Christian.
Prediction: It isn’t the first time that IMPACT has toyed with the idea of giving Jordynne the X Division Title. With all the changes to the match, it is hard to tell who may walk out as the winner. Part of me wants to believe Grace will take the win because where else will she fit in moving forward? I will still with Trey retaining.
The Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match is a Fatal 4-way with three teams and an unlikely duo. Once this match was confirmed many were bewildered by the pairing of Gisele Shaw and Lady Frost and the omission of The IInspiration. Shaw and Frost have been feuding whereas The IInspiration are former champs. It was confirmed on this week’s IMPACT! that Cassie Lee is not cleared to compete so that would explain The IInspiration not being included.
Prediction: The Influence retains. Fully expect this match to be a good outing by all eight women, but unless they randomly want to give the titles to Shaw & Frost anyone else winning wouldn’t make much sense.
Lastly, and the match with the most substance behind it, is the intergender match between Chelsea Green & Matt Cardona vs. Mickie James & Nick Aldis. Both married couples have a history with each other. Green, who was a good friend of James, turned heel on her just a couple of weeks ago. Cardona who is the NWA World Heavyweight Champion has recently done battle with Aldis. It is personal for the men but even more personal for the women.
Prediction: I fully expect the feud between Green and James to last far beyond this one encounter. With that in mind, I see Green & Cardona picking up this win. With this couple winning, it will most likely continue the feud until James is able to defeat her former friend.
