Well… #ItHappened.
What’s up guys? Welcome to this week’s write up. Last night on Impact we got some MAJOR progression in the #ReignofDixie, and we got a confrontation in the Knockout’s division. Elsewhere, another letter was revealed from the mysterious name who’s making her way to TNA. LBR, we all know who it is. But a lot of TNA’s audience probably don’t, so it’s fun for them I guess!
You can check out the first and second letters right here:
It’s been no secret that Angelina Love is frustrated with TNA right now. She feels she’s owed a title shot and she wants it. In a backstage segment earlier in the evening, Angelina said she was fed up of everyone being so gaga over Taryn Terrell and her feud with Gail Kim. Not one to sugarcoat her feelings, Angelina headed out to the ring with Velvet Sky in tow.
Angelina says the Beautiful People are WAY hotter than those other two, garnering her some wolf whistling and howls from the crowd. Velvet is, indeed, very beautiful. I’m just going to breeze past Angelina, though. She says she broke up Terrell-Gail 3, but who cares? She’s the one who deserves all the accolades and the admiration, and she’s the one who deserves her rematch for the Knockouts title.
And she wants it right now! (Very good delivery on that line, I must say.)
Taryn’s music hits, and when she hits the ring Angelina asks, “Haven’t you stolen enough from me?”. Taryn LOLs at her, then corrects her. Taryn says that Angelina took away her opportunity, and therefore she and Gail don’t know who is better. (spoiler alert: it’s probably Gail at this point.) Taryn’s pretty pissed at TBP for ruining her title shot, and rightfully so. Angelina’s happy to clear it up for her.
“I’m better than you. I’m better than Gail. I’m better than all the Knockouts on the roster, and I’m better looking than everyone in this building.”
She taunts the fans as they scream “WHAT?” at her. Off to the side, Velvet doesn’t look too convinced. Don’t worry Vel, you’re way prettier.
Angelina tells Taryn to run on home and tell her baby girl that her Momma’s just going to have to settle for being second best. Or third. Or fourth. Speaking of best, Gail Kim’s music hits and the Knockouts champ heads out to meet them.
She tells Taryn that she’ll get the opportunity to knock Angelina’s head off, because last week Gail spoke to Kurt Angle and he said she can decide who she defends her title against. She chooses Angelina. Oh, and Taryn Terrell! It’s a triple threat! But Gail’s not finished yet. She heard all the things Angelina said, about being the best and the most beautiful and she has to ask…
“Velvet, how do you feel about that?”
Before Velvet can respond, Angelina cuts her off and tells her not to listen to Gail. She’s just trying to stir things up. At least that’s what I think, anyway, based on the hand gestures. Gail says not to worry, that Velvet doesn’t need to listen to her. But she does have to listen to Kurt so, next week, Velvet is in the title match too!
Angelina does NOT look happy.
Gail proclaims that they’ll decide who the best Knockout is, and I’ve a feeling it’ll be a surprise…
Angelina and Velvet attack Gail and Taryn suddenly, but Gail manages to turn things around when Velvet accidentally clotheslines Angelina! The faces clear the ring and we’re set for a Fatal Four Way next week!
Onto the final event of the night…
Oh, Dixie Carter. I feel for you. Guys, the bump looks kinda nasty and I’m like 97% sure Dixie actually got injured.
It’s the age old tale. Boy hates girl. Girl hates boy. Boy puts girl through a table.
Wait, what?
Yup. After months of Dixie ruling TNA with her iron fist and group of handymen, she got her comeuppance from good ole’ Bully Ray. All of her hires and all of her men couldn’t put Dixie together again. With EC3 splayed out somewhere on the floor, Dixie tried to hightail it to the back with Rockstar Spud, who continues to be my absolute fave. But her escape was blocked by not one, not two but ALL of the TNA locker room. She was fed to the Dudleys Team 3D by Tommy Dreamer, and Bully finally put her through the table.
The place exploded in delight and the show closed to rampant TNA! TNA! chants.
Here’s an extended look at what happened after TNA went off the air:
You have to give Dixie kudos. Bully always tries to take the brunt of the bumps, to his credit, but this landing was quite awkward. Hopefully she’s not hurt too badly, but damn what a pay off after all these weeks! It was a great segment, and you can’t deny that Dixie has been one of TNA’s most hated heels of the last few years.
Oh, and if you don’t love Rockstar Spud then you are wrong.
Until next week! Ciao x
