Impact Write-Up (December 26th, 2013): The Gloves Are Off for Bully and Brooke

Hello, hello everybody! Are we all still feeling the good cheer from the festive season? I hope so, seeing as it’s only been two days and I’m a total Christmas nut. So, let me catch you up if you’re so chok-a-blok full of turkey and good food that you’ve forgotten all about Impact. Madison Rayne is back and she looks fantabulous. Lei’D Tapa has become Gail Kim‘s lady in waiting, essentially doing the dirty work. Mind you, the champ isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. ODB is still… there. Luckily, ODB finally got her hands on Tapa last night in a match that has the Knockout fans split. Love it or hate it. Like Marmite. Not a fan of the stuff, myself. I digress.

The #DixieTrain is full steam ahead after the culmination of last week’s Impact. Dixie Carter was front and center when my man, Jeff Hardy, was viciously thrown from a ladder by her chief of staff, Rockstar Spud. The incident cost Jeff the world title, for which I will never forgive Dixie. At least not until she throws out one of her wonderful one liners. Let’s see what she’s got for us this week.

Dixie is generally playing herself up and discussing how each wrestler in the company looks up to Magnus as a champion. She goes on to say that for next week, she has a very special announcement. And then Jeff Hardy’s music hits and my ovaries get excited. What.

“You lost. You are a loser.”

Really brings warmth to your heart, doesn’t she?

Dixie tries to make her announcement once again, but this time Sting interrupts her. My ovaries feel nothing, unlike Jeff’s unmentionables right now. By the by, he is so done with Dixie’s shit around the 11:00 minute mark. Love it.

Dixie can’t catch a break. The interruptions just keep on coming, don’t they?

Dixie doesn’t want to tell us anymore, so we’re gonna have to hold on until later tonight.

So we finally get some resolution on the Brooke/Bully Ray front, after Brooke inadvertently cost her man his faction, Aces and Eights. I was so happy for Brooke when she aligned with Bully; she got loads of exposure in the main events of shows. We can only wonder what’s next for our favourite leather wearing lady… and it appears she’s not going down without a fight! Brooke heads to the ring to give the world a piece of her mind. Dis gon’ be good.

That. Was. Awesome.

Brooke went from upset girlfriend, to determined missus, to bitter ex to queen bitch in about one minute and it was fabulous. Comparing him to the weird high schooler who has no friends? Heel move, and could totally upset people. Not saying it’s right in the real world, because it’s not, but in scripted wrestling, it’s great. She was great.

The segment took a dark turn. Bully threatened her many times, but Brooke stood her damn ground like the fierce woman she is.

Oh man. I would love for her to feud with Bully and bring in someone to take him down, but as for what’s to come for her… I kind of hope we get Face!Madison vs. Heel!Brooke for the Knockouts championship somewhere down the line.

Lei’D Tapa and Gail Kim are en route to the ring. Tapa is scheduled to face ODB is what has been a somewhat anticipated clash. Hopefully it’ll deliver; it’ll certainly be interesting. I’m hoping for Madison Rayne to make an appearance. Sidenote: Gail Kim looks flawless.

She launches us into a recap of what happened last week. Her FORMER BFF Madison Rayne humiliated her in a fluke victory! She moves onto ODB, whom she claims has a very valuable lesson to be learned. She invites her out, and we soon get underway.

The ladies square up and stare one another down. It’s a match of strength to start, but Tapa gets the upper hand early on and sends ODB into the corner. She gives her a moment too long to recover, however, and ODB rolls through to dodge a move. Of the two, ODB has agility on her side. She takes it to Tapa now, attempting several times to knock the Amazon off her feet. She fails, and the fiftieth time she tries, Tapa grabs her by the throat.

ODB battles out for a moment, trying with all her might to lift Tapa but to no avail. Tapa is back in control, coming at ODB from behind with right hands and big boots. Tapa has ODB in the corner and she’s wearing her down, despite the support from the crowd.

Tapa is just womanhandling ODB! That is something we haven’t seen before.

But ODB is mounting a comeback now with Tapa lined up in the corner. She tries and fails yet again to knock Tapa off her feet, and in her third attempt her face meets Tapa’s boot in a big way. Tapa wants to follow up with a leg drop but ODB rolls out of harms way.

ODB’s back in it with some hard chops to the chest. She tries yet again to knock Tapa down, just to prove that she can. She even employs a drop kick, but it doesn’t improve matters much. Still, she keeps her head and manages to get the upper hand. Sneaky ol’ Gail Kim, however, has other ideas. She slides her title into the ring to distract the ref while ODB manages to life Tapa up. Gail pulls on Tapa, ODB loses her balance and Tapa lands right on top of ODB, knocking the wind out of her.

Just like that, Tapa nails ODB with a sit-down TKO for the three count.

Gail’s in the ring now, and she has a message for Madison.

‘When you interfere with my business, you interfere with her business. And that’s not a business you wanna be in.’

We cut backstage to where Chris Sabin looks like he might try to eat Velvet Sky‘s hand. Chris guilt trips Velvet into agreeing to do anything he says next week when he takes on Austin Aries for the X Division championship. He says if she won’t, he’ll just have to find a girl who will. Oh dear.

Dixie made a reappearance during the tag team main event to make her long awaited announcement. Next week, Magnus gets a coronation. This week, it’s going to be a handicap tag team match. Not gonna lie, I’m a little disappointed. Never mind!

Alright, so I didn’t hate Impact this week. There was a distinct lack of Madison Rayne, and the match between Tapa and ODB was a lot shorter than I expected it would be. The two of them will definitely be going for round two, and I’m sure that, when they do, it’ll be much more devastating. Gail Kim has her sights set firmly on her ex BFF, and I’m guessing the same can only be said for Madison.

Things are looking up for Brooke, too. She’s back on her own, though I would have liked her and Bully’s feud to have lasted more than one segment. We could have had it aaaaaaaaaaall. BUT, as previously mentioned, I foresee Brooke vs. Madison for the title, and I’m excited about it. Hopefully we’ll get it! As for Velvet, things seem to be going south in her relationship. I’m not sure where that storyline is headed if they’re not going to turn her heel, but whatever happens I just hope it’ll be interesting.

Last but not least, the #DixieTrain is still far away from the station. Dixie has been brilliant these past few months, but I did miss her one liners tonight!

And now, for the finale.

So I’m taking some time off from Diva Dirt as of this week. It’s not forever, just a month or two while I handle some things in my life. I am forever grateful for each and every person who reads my write ups every week, and whether you leave positive or negative feedback about me or the writing or the show, I love ya. And I love my Diva Dirt Family, who all are wonderful and kind and supportive.

So, goodbye for now and a Happy New Year. Be seeing you soon!

Whoa. Hold up. Did my main man just quit TNA? WHAT? Jeff can’t handle my hiatus from the site. He needs some time to grieve, and I totes understand.

Kidding.

See ya!
