Aloha loyal DD readers, and welcome to this week’s edition of the Impact Write-Up! Last week saw the sudden, shocking departure of Lei’D Tapa (one that I’m still not quite over!) as well as a whole bunch of storyline progression between the reunited Beautiful People, Angelina Love & Velvet Sky, as well as the TNA Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne. TNA’s been on a roll Knockout wise for the last two weeks, so let’s dive right into this week’s show!
Cue that infamous music! Angelina Love comes down to the ring, wanting a answer as to why Velvet Sky hasn’t been returning her calls over the past week.
I know they are going for storyline advancement and obviously that’s key, but my god I feel like I’ve had to watch a marathon of talking segments the last few weeks. With that being said, I thought this one was short and to the point. I was really interested in the line Angelina said ” I sat on the sidelines for the last two years because I was a ” headache”” Really interesting how they are throwing a little bit of real life situations into this storyline. Angelina says she’d “rather be a headache than someone’s biotch”. Ouch. Remember when the word biotch was used like 27 times on Impact on a weekly basis!?! Aah 2008, I miss you. Angelina is SO much better as a heel, and this promo proved it.
Which leads us to the match….
The swerving, the swerving of it all! Angelina & Madison start off the match and it quickly becomes a really physical brawl. Velvet shows up and seems to be cheering on Madison. The two continue to battle back and forth (including a picture perfect Northern Lights Suplex from Madison to Angelina) and there ends up being several spots where one of the girls roll to the outside and then Velvet tries to will them back into the match…
Madison does a baseball slide to Angelina on the outside, Angelina rolls back in but distracts the referee…and then it happens. Wham! Velvet DDT’s Madison. Velvet rolls Madison back into the ring, and Angelina picks up the win!
Thank. The. Lord. I can’t tell you how much more enjoyable Angelina & Velvet are as heels. Personally, I think Madison is starting to find her own as a face. Hell, even the slightly once unbearable remixed theme song is starting to grow on me. So if they are going to reunite the Beautiful People, this is the perfect alignment to go with.
So the big question is, What will happen next? Will the Beautiful People run roughshod over TNA all over again? Will Madison Rayne get her revenge? I also can’t help but wonder what role Gail Kim will play in upcoming storylines. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!
There’s another legendary segment between one of Missy Hyatt‘s favorites, Sam Shaw and everyone’s favorite fiery redhead announcer, Christy Hemme. Or, as I like to refer to her CHRISTTTTTTTYYYYYY HEMMEEEEEE! Apparently, as a result of this segment, Sam Shaw was suspended for one week. As a result of watching this segment, I have been suspended from my sanity for one week.
Finally, I leave you this week with what appears to be a new girl debuting in TNA, While she hasn’t officially been named she was seen in a segment with Knux. This was the model that was rumored to have been signed a few weeks back.
