An interim ROH Women’s World Championship match is confirmed for this Friday’s return of ROH. It will be Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Martinez at the Supercard of Honor event.
On April 1, the promotion will be returning for the first time since the end of 2021 when they went on hiatus. Since then, AEW”s CEO and President Tony Khan has bought the company.
Prior to Khan’s purchase, the current reigning ROH Women’s World Champion Deonna Purrazzo is already booked for a match on the same day. As an IMPACT Knockout holding the gold for ROH, Purrazzo is booked in a Champ Champ Open Challenge for the Multiverse of Matches event on April 1. Therefore, with that conflict of scheduling, Willow vs. Martinez has been confirmed for the ROH bout. The winner will be facing Purrazzo at a future time.
Purrazzo has been a fighting champion ever since winning the ROH gold. She has had multiple open challenges and has seen a plethora of opponents. The Virtuosa is scheduled for another open challenge on this Thursday’s IMPACT!
