It is being reported that Io Shirai will be out of action for possibly two months. The Wrestling Observer is stating that Shirai is injured although the exact injury hasn’t been disclosed.
The most clarity on the injury is according to the NXT injury report that was posted after this week’s show. The report stated that she tweaked her knee after her match with Toni Storm. Bianca Belair caused a disqualification of the match sue to interference. Afterwards, Storm delivered a suicide dive on Shirai. This is where the injury occurred.
Shirai tweeted out the following:
The injury report stated that it was categorized as a ”day to day” timeframe. There hasn’t been an official follow up from WWE at this time.
