Women’s Wrestling fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Io Shirai in a WWE ring. Dave Meltzer recently noted on on Wrestling Observer Radio that her debut is being delayed due to a neck injury.
According to Meltzer, it was found that she’s had the neck injury since May and WWE observed it during medicals in Pittsburgh.
However, Io is still coming to WWE once she recovers, but that it will probably be “quite a while” before then.
Before Io came to the states she was arguably STARDOM’s top star as well as one of the biggest women’s wrestling names in Japan.
She made a brief appearance on Lucha Underground as part of the Black Lotus Triad in December under the alias Hitokiri.
