Jade Cargill is still the TBS Champion as she has extended her winning streak to 30-0.
On this week’s Rampage, in the main event, Cargill defended her title and win streak against “The Problem” Marina Shafir. The two went toe-to-toe with Cargill utilizing her baddie section of Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet in the front row as much as she could.
The final moments in the match witnessed Cargill connect with a kick to Shafir before slamming her into the table in the timekeeper’s area. Cargill goes for the cocky cover after getting Shafir back in the ring with just one foot on the chest of her opponent. Shafir kicked out and grabbed the champ’s leg trying to go for a leg lock. Cargill stomps on Shafir’s face to avoid it before she lifted Shafir up into Jaded to obtain her three count.
Also on Rampage, there was a short backstage interview with three of the six women who have qualified for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Jamie Hayter, Toni Storm, and Dr. Britt Baker were present.
Tony Schiavone says one of the three women standing with him could go on to become the next champion. Baker interrupts and clarifies that it would be either her or Hayter that becomes champion. Storm interjects and asks what exactly has Baker ever done besides being AEW Women’s Champion. Has she ever left Pittsburgh? Storm says she will see Hayter in the first round of the tournament and that maybe she will see Baker later.
Along with these three women, Red Velvet, Ruby Soho, and Hikaru Shida are also qualified for the tournament.
Speaking of Shida, she will be taking on Serena Deeb in perhaps their final chapter to end it once and for all in a Philly Street Fight on the April 27 episode of Dynamite.
