Current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill seems to actually be injured.
On the Nov. 22 episode of SmackDown, Cargill was found laid out on top of a vehicle after a vicious attack by an unknown assailant. This was shown during a Women’s United States Title First Round Tournament Match between Bianca Belair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Blair Davenport. Belair chose to go help her tag team partner which led to Green picking up the win.
Reports are now showing that the attack to Cargill on screen is to write her off of TV due to a neck injury.
First, Fightful Select wrote over the weekend –
The Jade Cargill angle was to cover for a legitimate injury. We’re working to confirm that.
Today, the Wrestling Observer states –
“We did get confirmation that Cargill is injured but the severity wasn’t known internally past those involved in creative were told it will be a minimum of three months out, maybe longer, which is why they released the story of such severe injuries,” Meltzer wrote.
WWE’s Kayfabe response they released was –
Cargill has been pulled from both the Women’s U.S. Title Tournament and the WarGames match. It is stated that the replacement for the tournament has already taken place due to this week’s SmackDown being taped. You can see those spoilers here.
As for WarGames, her replacement is also set, which can be seen in the same spoilers.
