Jamie Hayter is ready for her first AEW Women’s World Championship match.
The August 3rd edition of AEW Dynamite featured ThunderStom reuniting to take on Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter. AEW switched things up for the first time in weeks as the women’s bout aired around 8:30 p.m. ET as opposed to the usual 9:30 p.m. ET slot before the main event.
The match was all gas and no brakes as the four women kept a fast pace from bell to bell for 12 minutes. The finish saw Hayter pin Storm, which naturally upset Thunder Rosa.
The big win now affords Jamie Hayter the opportunity to challenge Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship this Saturday at AEW Battle of the Belts III. This will mark Hayter’s first title match in AEW.
Before Saturday, though, we also know Madison Rayne will make her AEW debut this Friday on Rampage. It was just announced on Wednesday that Rayne has joined the promotion as a new coach for the women’s division. It appears she will also work as a talent as well.
Next week’s “Quake by the Lake” edition of AEW Dynamite will feature the latest open challenge for TBS Champion Jade Cargill. It remains to be seen who will step up to try and end Cargill’s undefeated streak and dominant title reign.
