After Sexy Star successfully broke the glass ceiling during Aztec Warfare 3 last week, she’ll be taking on her first challenger for the Lucha Underground Championship tonight.
Johnny Mundo has been aiming for the show’s top prize for months now, targeting Sexy who held the Gift of the Gods Championship. He issued a challenge last week to the winner of Aztec Warfare and tonight the two will meet for the championship.
As Sexy’s goal of capturing the championship was realized last week, she’s issued several statements reflecting on what the championship means to her and how she works every day to inspire women to be their best.
In the video above she thanks the crowd for their support and says she’ll give her life to prove that women are just as strong as men.
Lucha Underground also released this video charting her journey to attain the title and what it means to her.
She says her journey has been tough and there were many times she thought this would never happen. She said when no one else believed she could do it, she believed she could. She calls out Johnny and says she made history and achieved her destiny. She dedicates her victory to all women and she will continue to fight for the empowerment of women, as “every woman is sexy, every woman is a star!”
