Jordynne Grace says mainstream fans aren’t ready for intergender wrestling

Jordynne Grace is arguably the hardest working women on the independent wrestling circuit. The recent no. 1 contender for the Impact Knockouts Title has been racking up frequent flyers miles, wrestling all over the United States, and the world.

Grace is known for her immense strength and also her growing list of intergender opponents. “Thick Mama Pump” recently was a guest on Interactive Wrestling Radio and spoke on intergender wrestling, expressing her belief that the national audience is not ready to accept it.

“I’m going to say no. A lot of people don’t like intergender wrestling. A lot of people who don’t understand wrestling at all hate intergender wrestling and are not comfortable with it.

It is really unfortunate, but I think as soon as a company like Impact Wrestling takes a chance and makes it a little more mainstream, then people will see good intergender wrestling, and it will make it more palatable. Then they’ll realize that this is something that people can watch, and want to watch, and [it] actually makes sense.”

With Grace now on the Impact roster, she may be able to help change the audience’s perception on intergender wrestling on a national level. Once Impact gets more involved, WWE may soon follow suit. WWE had tested the waters earlier in the year with a potential Nia Jax and Dean Ambrose feud, but for whatever reason, dropped the storyline all together.
