Jordynne Grace is fairly early on in her second reign as the Knockouts World Champion. She won the title in the first Queen of the Mountain Match at Slammiversary dethroning Tasha Steelz in the process. A successful first defense against Steelz in a rematch is already in the books and she has Mia Yim next to face at Emergence. But who else would she like to defend her title against?
One name is someone who is currently a free agent and that is Dakota Kai. Kai, who wrestled in WWE’s NXT division, was let go by the company in April. There were reports, but no confirmation, that Kai wasn’t planning on re-signing with WWE as well. While speaking on the Angle Podcast, Grace named Kai as someone outside of IMPACT that she would like to face. She also provided some praise and said she would fit right into the Knockouts division.
“So this is such a hard question because I feel like AEW has signed a lot of people. But someone that would be awesome to wrestle is Dakota Kai. I don’t think [Dakota] got her full due at WWE and I think that IMPACT would really be a great place for her to go. She has a very unique look, a unique wrestling style, and I feel like the Knockouts division, she kind of personifies that.” (Fightful)
Kai has not returned to the ring since she left WWE, but she has trademarked the name, King Kota. She was in WWE since 2017.
