In a new report by PWInsider, former NXT and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane (KAIRI) will be returning to WWE.
The report states Sane’s return is “imminent.”
Sane confirmed in March 2023 that she was a free agent after having her recent run with STARDOM. Sane left WWE in July 2020 to return to Japan with reports saying she wanted to be with her husband and it was also the start of the COVID pandemic. She became an ambassador for the WWE.
After her WWE contract expired, she would return to STARDOM and wrestled her first match since July 2020 in March 2022. She became the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion at NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over when she defeated Mayu Iwatani. She recently wrestled at Sareee Produce Sareee-ISM Chapter II on August 4.
Sane was a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Asuka under the name the Kabuki Warriors. Her farewell video from the company garnered nearly 2 million views.
