Former Ring of Honor star Karen Q made her debut for the NXT brand at a live event last evening in Tampa, FL. She was recently signed to WWE and reported to the Performance Center. Along with Rachael Ellering, Karen Q was the only other woman brought into this class. Her debut came in the form of tag team action.
Karen Q has made a previous appearance for WWE. She was involved in the second season of the Mae Young Classic. She suffered a defeat in the first round to Xia Li.
As reported by Squared Circle Sirens, Karen Q teamed up with Lacey Lane in a losing effort against Aliyah and Vanessa Borne. Starting the match off as a babyface appeared to be too much for her. After the match, she attacked her own tag team partner. In this response to a fan on Twitter, she explains that Lane deserved it.
It may be a little unorthodox for a heel turn in someone’s debut house show match. This could mean big things to come for the self-proclaimed Asian Invasion as she makes her way up the ladder. It could also signify that she will be a loner and does not need help from a tag team partner.
